The 18th Convocation ceremony was declared open by the Chairman, College Governing Council, Dr Aaron Ola Ogundiwin, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr OlusojiAlaruru Adeyanju, who is also a member of the Governing Council. The Visitor to the College, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE was represented at the occasion by the head of the Supervisory Ministry, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Taiwo Olabode Ladipo.
Among the important dignitaries present wasthe Country Representative of World Health Organization, Dr. Walter Kazadi Mulombo,who was visiting Oyo State for the first time and indicated his interest in WHO partnering with the College in their areas of interest.Others were the representatives of the Secretary to the State Government and the Commissioner for Education, Directors from the Ministry of Health, Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government Area, Political Head of Okebadan LCDA, other political chieftains, traditional rulers, past heads of the institution; Dr T.J. Akande, Dr A.K. Oyeniran, Pharm. B. L. Akinwande and Mr M.A. Ganiyu. Others in attendance were members of the Governing Council, the Management team, staff, students and members of the Alumni association and graduating students. The Anniversary cake was cut in commemoration of the well-attended ceremony.
A total of 1, 100 graduands graduated; 598 for 2020/ 2021 session and 502 for 2021/2022 session. Out of this number, for the 2020/ 2021 session, 97 graduated with Distinction, 185 with upper credit, 218 with lower credit and 98 with Pass. For 2021/2022 session, 60 graduated with Distinction, 236 with upper credit, 149 with lower credit and 57 with Pass.
The 90th Founder’s Day and 18th Convocation Celebrations have come and gone, but the memories left will remain for a long time.
