PHILOSOPHY OF PROGRAMME
The Board believe in the promotion and maintenance of the physical mental and social well-being of the individual and the community through the control of factors in the environment that are detrimental to individual, since the environment plays very prominent roles in man's health.
Our beliefs have been strengthened by the universal acceptance of environmental health control as a major component of Primary Health Care. We are therefore encouraged to design a training programme that relies on scientific knowledge of Public Health Science (biological, physical and social) Health Education. Management Skills and Techniques of Community Mobilization and Environmental Monitoring is adopted.
This programme will ultimately stimulate the trainees enquiring minds on the development of problem solving techniques and promotion of essential attitudinal process for effective functioning. Also the Environmental Health Officers to be produced by the exposure to the various courses will have a firm understanding of the socio economics needs of the community taking into consideration their local, cultural, religious and other related influencing factors that will be able to adapt the acquired scientific knowledge and skills to meet health need of the community.
Admission Requirement
i. 5 Credits credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry or Physics and any other subject at not more than two sittings.
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
